Celibacy

Our objective is to inform you that Gods idea of a great relationship is for couples to practice celibacy. Celibacy is defined as the act or practice of refraining from indulging an appetite or desire for sexual intercourse and all sexual activities.

The scriptures says
"Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:18, 20

You are so precious to God and as a single person you belong to God in body and spirit. The scripture says, "Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body." 1 Corinthians 6:13b As a saint of God you have to have a standard for your Chrisitian life and your standard should be holiness as unto the Lord. In our society today a virgin is more looked down upon than looked up to, a virgin is considered one that is strange and out of touch with reality. We as a society promote fornication among our young people, we give them condoms and birth control and tell them if you're going to have sex just make sure that you're protected. However, because of society willingness to promote sex instead of celibacy our youths are getting pregnant at an alarming rate as well as contracting STDs in record numbers.

So let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter of avoiding fornication; "Run away from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Or don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor him with your body." 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 NLT
